TryRide is an introduction to riding a motorcycle, aimed at those with no or very little previous experience. We particularly recommend it to people who have not ridden a motorcycle before and hold a provisional driving licence.
TryRide will give you an opportunity to learn and practice the basics of controlling a motorbike before progressing onto a CBT course.
Our 1-hour Try Ride sessions are just what you need! A qualified instructor will brief you about the session and kit you out with a helmet and safety gear. Then you get to ride a 50cc (if you’re 16 years old) or 125cc motorbike or scooter (if you’re older) away from the road in a secure training area with help from your instructor. They’ll get you used to the gears and throttle, and soon you’ll be grinning like you did when you learnt to ride a push bike.
After your session, you can find out more about learning to ride a motorbike or scooter. We’ll explain how to do your CBT and how to go for a full motorcycle licence.
They can also offer advice on what bike to buy and what kit you need, or anything else you want to know. Then you’re well on the way to enjoying the freedom, fun and flexibility that life on two wheels brings.
TryRide is an optional course, and customers may choose to move directly to CBT. However, CBT is a long and demanding day, particularly for those without any experience to fall back on. Attending TryRide makes the CBT course more enjoyable and makes it more likely to go on to pass CBT on a single day.
Before booking a TryRide Session, you must be able to:
We recommend that you provide your own helmet, jacket, boots, and gloves, but please let us know if you wish us to provide anything. You need to provide and wear hard-wearing trousers (jeans or work trousers).
